Save yourself the time and hassle in learning about the visas, royalty fees, hours in research in top attractions, the organising of your in-land transportation, etc. I had read through countless blogs and travel guides before chancing on Om Travenza. I believe it is an absolute must to utilise a Bhutanese travel agency to guide anyone through the planning and holiday experience (FYI - my first trip to Bhutan was as a 25y.o female solo traveller!). My Second tip - have a good camera if you're a photography enthusiast (beginner or otherwise) as photo opportunities are endless. Here's also where a good local tour guide becomes totally worth it. Third tip - Bhutan has a range of activities that you can do solo or as a group, regardless of age or gender. 17th-century Dzongs are a must-see, especially in Punakha! Good to dress conservatively for Dzongs and truly soak up the Buddhism practices to gain different perspectives.Overall, Bhutan leaves an unbeatable travel experience, that is unlike any other well-travelled paths. Recommend flying into the country to get a birds-eye view of the Himalayas, and experience for yourself the beauty of Bhutan for a minimum of 7-days. I visited Thimpu, Punakha and Paro. I was always warmly welcomed wherever I went and I felt completely safe with my guide and transport.
