Transportation in Bhutan is only by the means of roadways. There are no domestic railways and airways connecting the Nation. But Bhutan have a quality roadways connected to all the major places for sightseeing purposes. Due to high mountain terrain and steep slopes the road is narrow and winding. Driving through Bhutan roadways will take you across the highest mountains and drop you to the lowest valleys.
All major towns in the Kingdom are accessible by roads, due to the road conditions minimum speed limit is 40-60 km/hrs which will make your journey a bit slower and tiring too. But one gets an exciting experience to travel from lush green forests to the high mountain with a beautiful scenic nature.
Motor roads are well maintained and smooth and connect all major sightseeing places. The mountainous terrain and winding roads restrict the average speed of vehicles to less than about 40km/hour
